"You can see that the architecture has a European influence with the tropical, open feel. If you go straight through the porch to the railing and look over and down, you will see the waves crashing against the rocks below, splashing water occasionally onto the tile floor. The salt spray has weathered the structure, eroding some of the detail. The place is a memory... a splendid memory. You can see how the memory has brought the lady back to gaze once again."


When I painted Splendid Memories, I wanted to recreate the feeling of returning to a place that has never truly left your heart. Time has softened the walls, the sea has shaped the stone, and the gentle sound of the waves still echoes through the open colonnade. The single chair, the rose left behind, and the endless view toward the ocean all remind me that some places become part of who we are. Even after many years, one visit is enough to bring every beautiful memory rushing back.
